The New Cairo German School is integrated in the Town Center of the New Cairo Masterplan, a green city located on the southeast edge of the Cairo Governorate. The school is divided in two buildings, each with a specific program. The first one hosts a kindergarten, and the second, which is the main building, the Primary, Secondary and High Schools. The new facilities have been designed to meet modern standards which encourage a positive impact on the academic and social life of the students.
To achieve this, luminosity prevails in both buildings, as the abundance of light has demonstrated to improve performance and concentration. A lightness in the use of furniture also benefits the overall conduct and wellbeing. All these furnishings have been chosen because of their durability and ergonomic qualities, suited to be used as seats for several hours and resistant to long term wear and tear. The design of common areas like the library, reception and cafeteria has a modern, clean and fresh interior design, far away from the standard design often seen in schools centers, which aims to treat students like the adults they will become once they finish their education.
