Mayta wants to be a unique and recognizable place within the Dubai Design District, the new heart of Dubai design. The main idea was to create an industrial but at the same time cozy site related to the world of tattoos.
The existing architecture has marked the organization of the space: two bars have been created near the facade around the pillars, with their sizes and finishes they are sculptural elements that create and decorate the space at the same time. The bars are open to the outside while different activities take place inside (bar, ceviche bar, DJ, art, etc.).
A long corridor divides the bars from the table area where lounge areas and tables of different types are mixed. The mezzanine with its peculiar pipe railing allows the creation of a VIP area on the upper floor and a more secluded area in the area below.
The use of pipes, concrete, exposed installations, metal mesh and plates, vintage furniture and lighting mark the industrial-vintage style of the place. Another key element in the decoration is the graphics, Stefano Alcantara’s paintings / photo impressions with their size and content.
