PIXEL is a complex formed by seven towers with mixed uses located in the Makers Village. This complex on the outside has a cubic cut-out building concept with terraces that overlook to the public open spaces and to the waterfront. All of the towers facades combine concrete with luminous ceramics giving a nod to the region's pearl diving heritage.
Seven towers, seven colors.
Each tower has been assigned a bright graffiti color: Olive bright green, Orange, Lavender, Jade, Ice Blue, Yellow, Perfect pink. Each color creates a certain atmosphere corresponding to the functions of the public places. For instance, the Makers Early Learning center is located in the Orange tower as orange colors increase creativity, happiness and joyousness whereas the Makers Clinic is situated in the Jade tower because indigo colors stimulate calmness and inner strength. The highlights in the interior design are related to the main components used by artists, such as light, color, shapes and textures.
The common areas consist of main lobby, lift lobbies, corridors, pantry, toilets and amenities that may vary depending on the building. The design features exposed raw materials, transparencies and bright color for accent. The main lobby has a double height, accent color on the flooring and walls, textured feature wall and vertical circulation which identifies the building in the complex. Additionally, the lobby has a vantage point light installation that initiate the artistic experience of the visitor upon entering the building
